The Brunei History Centre Library continues to act as a comprehensive knowledge resource for researchers, students and users interested in the history and culture of Brunei and Southeast Asia. With a diverse collection of over 60 thousand materials including the Brunei Reference Collection, Southeast Asian Collection, Borneo Collection and Rare Collection, the library highly supports academic research, even providing access to valuable and rare information, making it an invaluable resource for the local and international research community. The History Centre Library also preserved a valuable collection of rare or odd books, with over 600 titles that are difficult to find elsewhere. Rare books consist of materials that are no longer in print or republished, making them an invaluable resource for in-depth research into history.

One of the valuable collections of the Brunei History Centre is 'The Philippine Islands', which not only serves to record the history of the Philippines, but also provides a clear picture of Brunei's strategic position in the political and trade network of Southeast Asia.

The 55-volumes of The Philippine Islands also provide information on trade, navigation, and diplomatic activities connecting Brunei with the Philippines, Borneo, and the Malay Archipelago.
